This term, students in 1A (Amazing) had so many exciting moments. A key highlight was the recent incursion by St John Ambulance Australia. This program was delivered by professional trainers who taught students the importance of First Aid and what to do in an event of an emergency. Students role played emergency situations and calling Triple Zero. At the end of this equally important and exciting experience, students received a certificate for attending and an emergency situation card to fill out with their parents.

Grade 2

This term students in 2A really enjoyed many exciting activities. Mrs Sargood incursion was a highlight of this term. Students encountered a real person from the past in their classroom and compared the past with the present. Students had a chance to use copper plate pen and ink writing, discuss life within a 19th century home and the childhood in the 19th century and the expectation of children.

Students had hands-on lessons in STEM. They used coding to program a little Ozobot, tiny robots to follow patterns on the surfaces.

Grade 3

The grade 3 students have been learning many fascinating facts about the indigenous peoples, Anzac Day and Australia’s history this term. Our wonderful team had organized an excursion to The Anzac War Memorial and to The Royal Botanical Gardens as part of our integrated studies learning unit. Our students were able to visit and pay their respects to our fallen war heroes and learn many fascinating facts from the Education Department at The Royal Botanical Gardens.

We also visited the Ian Potter Children’s Garden where all grade 3’s were able to explore the wonderful installations. They took part in Aboriginal art sessions and were informed about our indigenous people's way of life and how they cared for our land. We are proud to state that our students were beautifully behaved and had a wonderful time. They took back with them a hands on experience about the lessons they had been learning and an appreciation for our history and celebrations.
